Although many would think that being one of four wives would certainly be anything but lonely, for Meri Brown this doesn't appear to be the case. Meri, 50, the first of Kody Brown's four wives, was shown to be isolated from her large, polygamist family on Sunday night's episode.
The mother-of-one set off on a solo trip to "Check out from everybody and everything," where she revealed that life had "Been lonely," for her during the pandemic because she and her clan "really haven't spent much time together."

Speaking about Meri's solitude, husband Kody had confessed to cameras "My relationship with Meri is not the kind of relationship where I'm going to talk with her every day. My best guess is that her sister wives don't feel like having any interaction with her daily either."
Reflecting on her relationship, Meri recalled a recent conversation she had, had with her spouse "It just kind of came down to that we're friends, which I guess is a good thing. It's a good thing. But I don't know, I guess I just kind of have hope for more than that."
She continued "If I quit and I walk away, then it's not going to get better. I'm not going anywhere, y'all. You're stuck with me, whether you like it or not."
The Couple's Marriage Went South After Meri Struck Up A Relationship With An Online Catfish
Cracks in the couple's marriage first appeared after Meri was found to be having an 'adulterous' online relationship with a man in 2015, a man who later turned out to have been fabricated by a female catfish.
Kody claimed this was a difficult time for him, stating "About five years ago, Meri and I were in a bad place. She basically asked me to stop staying at her house and ultimately what happened is she went through an experience where she was catfished by a person pretending to be somebody else."
He then disclosed that Meri's relationship had "Turned out to be extremely exploitative and abusive. And from that experience, Meri and I sort of saw our marriage just dissolve."
Meri too addressed this "Really dark spot," attesting, "I think that they questioned if I'm going to stay [in the marriage]."
"Through that time, I was considering every single option that I had. Leave, go do my own thing. I've considered everything, And this is where I am. This is my decision."
